Maui, Hawaii

I bought a Mac in the 1985 "first hundred days" promotion and went to Maui to write some code. I switched to the PC in '87 or so because I refused to pay an outlandish price for a hard disk drive.

Osapa Earth Station

For two months in 2003 I worked at Intercellular Nigeria and spent a lot of time in a little suburb of Lagos called Osapa.

In 1991 I visited Zanzibar. Probably the coolest place on earth.

Seychelles

The BBC Indian Ocean Relay Station, Seychelles Islands, 1991. I actually took some of the blue out with Photoshop. The sky is so blue there it looks artificial in a photo.

Photo circa 1981

Taken about 1981 at a computer trade show. The exhibit was sixteen or so machines in kiosks (see tower in background) connected via a Corvus Omninet LAN (Ethernet cards were not yet on the market for PCs). The applications were LAN email, "videotext" for show and area restaurant/hotel information, and a audience "survey" with the results continuously tabulated in real time.
